Life is technically one big learning experience. Every day holds something new to be learned and every now and then we fail at something and there are two options, to either embrace the failure and choose to learn from it or give up and quit. And while all of this sounds serious, there are also those little moments in life that have me saying “doh!” Homer Simpson style. This photo shoot is one of those moments and I’m choosing to embrace it.
Adult Lesson #1: Always iron or steam your clothes.
I loathe chores – laundry, doing the dishes, cooking (yes, cooking is a chore to me) and last but not least, ironing. If I could have a personal dry cleaning system at home, my life would be complete. Although this machine is a pretty close second, it’s not in the budget. So a handheld steamer is my new best friend. Because this dress is too beautiful (and affordable!) to be covered in wrinkles, and a steamer would have done the trick.
So what did we learn today folks? “Adulting” is hard. We all make mistakes. But sometimes those little preventative measures such as steaming/ironing your clothes the day before makes everything that much better. And learn from it! Embrace your mistakes, because if I hadn’t, this gorgeous shoot would have gone to the trash. And I think a life lesson is much more fun to share instead of hiding from it.
