I love e.l.f. products. The items are mind-blowingly cheap and have surprisingly good quality. Many of the items even make great dupes for more expensive makeup products, which is a bonus in my book. So when I picked up e.l.f.’s Studio Powder Blush in Candid Coral at my local Target for only $3, I had high expectations for it. And this light coral blush definitely does not disappoint.
It is a finely milled blush that has just the right pigmentation; it isn’t too heavy and allows for buildable color. It is a light coral pink shade with a slight golden sheen to it so it makes for a great everyday blush- no highlight required! Any product that saves a step in my daily makeup routine becomes a holy grail product for me. I apply this blush with my Essence of Beauty Blush brush and it distributes the perfect amount of color on my cheeks leaving a subtle highlight where the sun would naturally shine on my high cheekbones giving my face a soft glow. It just gives your face a little bit of color without going overboard.
I had read many beauty blogs that compared this blush to NARS Orgasm, so of course, I had to do the comparison myself. And I have to say, while yes, the color does come rather close (although not exactly the same), I actually prefer the e.l.f. blush. Orgasm is more of a pink shade than coral and has more of a chunky shimmer than its cheaper counterpart. Candid Coral has a golden sheen as opposed to thick gold shimmer. This makes it a much better everyday blush, especially since it saves you quite a few more bucks- $22 less to be exact.
So if you have a chance to pick up this blush, I recommend you try it. I mean, it is only $3. So you really can’t go wrong. And I promise you won’t be disappointed.
