Getting Organized & Makeup Storage Solutions

January 6, 2014
If you’re anything like me, nothing is more frustrating than having to dig through your makeup while getting ready. I hate when everything is a mess and unorganized. I also feel like a lot of products get hidden and shoved to the bottom or back of the drawer, basically never to be found again in what I call the makeup abyss.
But have no fear! There are plenty of choices to solve your makeup storage dilemma. These are a few of my top picks that cover all price ranges and allow for a growing makeup collection, because let’s be honest… you’re not going to just stop buying makeup LOL.
I have a LOT of makeup so I need a tower with drawers to keep everything organized. The Ikea Alex storage solution is extremely popular amongst makeup gurus for it’s wide and spacious drawers. You’ll need smaller containers or baskets to help keep everything in the drawers nice and tidy. The Home Decorators Collection Stanton 6 + 1 Drawer Storage Card is another great option and while a little on the pricier side, it will hold up for a very long time. The wheels on both of these storage towers are removable as well.
The Container Store has some great makeup storage options and they have even recently added an acrylic module storage set that allows you to build as you go. This is a much more affordable option for those who like the look of the infamous makeup cubes. The Container Store also has great lipstick and nail polish holders to help keep everything it’s place.
If you prefer a vanity with storage, the Ikea Malm Dressing Table is perfect since it is narrow enough to fit in a bedroom with other furniture and it has a built-in drawer that fits a surprising amount of products. I would recommend smaller baskets and containers again to help keep things organized in the drawer. Michaels Craft Store also carries scrapbook paper storage drawer sets that would be perfect for makeup and can easily sit on top of the vanity for extra storage.
What do you use to organize and store your makeup?
