I’ve never actually purchased anything from The Body Shop, but I’ve been dying to try a few of their products and they’ve been on my “to get” list for quite a while now. So after seeing their sale signs in the store window while I was strolling along Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena I figured that was my opportunity to finally take the plunge. This was an amazing sale and they had some awesome deals that I couldn’t pass up.
First up on my list of things to try was, of course, their body butter. They are said to have the best body butters around. Let’s just say I am officially hooked. This stuff rocks. The thick, buttery cream is thick enough to accomplish some heavy duty moisturizing, yet it sinks into the skin just enough to leave your skin feeling smooth and soft. The best part is that my skin actually feels moisturized all day. Most lotions or moisturizers tend to “disappear” almost an hour after application and I always feel like I have to reapply throughout the day. This is definitely not the case with The Body Shop Body Butters.
I didn’t want anything that smelled too strong so I opted for the Cocoa Butter Body Butter in the mini size; perfect size to throw in my purse and it was on sale for $5.
I’ve been on the hunt for a new facial moisturizer but I refuse to pay for absurd amounts for lotion. Especially since I go through it so quickly. So when I found the Vitamin E Moisture Cream mini size on sale for only $3.50 I figured I’d give it a go.
I really like it so far. I’ve been using it every morning for about a week now and it works as a great moisturizer pre-foundation application. It doesn’t leave my face shiny and greasy like my usual Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, but it does a great job at moisturizing and prevents any dry spots which tends to happen if I use too light of a moisturizer. The Vitamin E Moisture Cream is the perfect in between; not too light or too heavy.
After reading several posts about the Banana Shampoo and Conditioner I have been dying to try them. I love bananas and anything banana flavored. Remember the candy Runts? Well I used to only eat the little banana candies in it lol. Weird, I know. So you can imagine how excited I was when I found out about a banana shampoo and conditioner. Unfortunately, they were completely sold out of the shampoo. But I was able to get my hands on the conditioner, and it was on sale for $3! I was pretty excited. But now I’m still on the hunt for the shampoo as I’m a little OCD and only use matching or corresponding shampoo and conditioners. So for now, the banana conditioner is in the cabinet waiting to be used.
This must be more popular of an item than I thought because it is completely sold out online and at three different Body Shop locations I’ve gone to. So hopefully I will find the counterpart soon. I’ll be sure to do a review when I have both the shampoo and the conditioner in my possession. But I will say this conditioner smells amazing! I can’t wait to use it.
The last item I picked up wasn’t actually on sale but it’s something that has been on my list to try for a while. The Skin Primer Matte It is a clear mattifying gel helps absorb excess oils and leaves a silky-shine free finish.
I’ve also been using this every day for the last week and it is awesome. I usually don’t use face primers but I must say this primer is awesome. It creates the perfect canvas to apply foundation and concealer and it literally just glides on the face. It allows for easier blending with liquid foundation and a smoother finish. I apply this after my moisturizer as well to ensure I have a more even complexion. It also allows the primer to go on smoother, which in turn makes the foundation go on even smoother. I highly recommend trying this primer out. It has made a huge difference in overall foundation/ face routine. I may never go without a face primer again.
This wasn’t a huge haul, just a few goodies I’m glad I picked up. The Body Shop sale is still going on online and in stores but it will be ending soon. This is a great time to stock up on Body Shop items since they rarely go on sale.
