July beauty favorites

Another month down and another round of beauty products I had to share. My July beauty favorites were some of my most coveted products I’ve used in a while. Most of which are easily making their way into my August routine. Here’s a round up of everything I used to death in July and why each product has become my go-to…

1. Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel

After makeup removal (I swear by this for gentle cleansing), I use this witch hazel to tone and remove any excess product on my face using these cotton pads. It’s the last step in my makeup removal process and makes my skin look and feel squeaky clean. It smells lovely, isn’t harsh on my skin, doesn’t dry me out and it’s affordable. I even have a travel version that I take with me everywhere, because it really makes that much of a difference on my skin. Much needed when travel tries to wreak havoc on my skin.

2. Origins GinZing Moisturizer

I switch up my moisturizers constantly, but finding the right daytime moisturizer for summer can be tough. I tend to stick with gel-formulas when it’s hot and humid outside because it provides the moisture I need without looking greasy or oily on the skin. This moisturizer has that perfect formula that wears well throughout the day, makes a great base for makeup and doesn’t leave my face looking oily. It’s lightweight, oil-free and also has a pleasant citrus scent that’s perfect for mornings!

3. Volition Thanakha Radiant Liquid Bronzer

This stuff is like nothing else I’ve ever used. It’s not a skin tint, it’s not a CC Cream and it’s not a foundation. But it acts like all three! Although referred to as a liquid bronzer, this is a multi-purpose formula that hydrates and conceals and blurs imperfections to create an airbrushed effect. You can read my full review of this product here and trust me when I say, this is the ultimate replacement for foundation in hot and humid weather.

4. NARS Liquid Blush in Luster

After falling love with Glossier’s Cloud Paint, I was eager to try any and all liquid blushes for their ease of use in the summer. The NARS formula is sheer, lightweight and easily blendable. I went with the peachy shade, Luster, and I love the way it looks layered with a cream bronzer for a nice summer glow. When I tried it for the first time it was very liquid-y so I threw it in the fridge to thicken the formula bit and it worked great! Now it’s a perfect consistency and easy to apply with your fingers. Similar to the Cloud Paints, a little of this product goes a very long way.

5. Glossier Haloscope in Quartz

There’s not much to say about this easy to use cream highlighter other than the fact that it’s been my most used product in my arsenal all summer long. The higher the temps get, the more I stay from powder products so I’ve been reaching for this highlighter to add the ultimate glow. Especially if I know I’m going to be outdoors. The way this product glistens on the skin when the sun hits it is unreal. I love Haloscope for those lazy makeup days but still want the ultimate glow.

6. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

This is an oldie, but a goodie. For those days when I want a little extra pop of color on the cheeks, I’ve been reaching for this peachy-hue that instantly adds a glow to my face. I tend to opt for peachier shades in the summer and love how easy this product is to blend. It was actually a favorite last summer too! It’s highly pigmented, adds a little glow with (very) subtle shimmer and it’s under $10! Definitely my favorite blush for summer.

7. Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow in The Glo Down

Guys, this is no ordinary eyeshadow. It’s the most insane highlighter! I first heard about this multitasking shadow on YouTube and had to track it down. The second I had it in my hands I had to swipe this metallic beauty and couldn’t believe how pigmented the product is! One swipe is all you need to achieve an unbelievable glow. Annnnd… it’s $4. Yes, an amazing highlighter for under $5. #win

8. Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in New Moon

This shadow is a beaut! It’s the lightest, creamiest formula – almost like a mousse – and has the most gorgeous shimmer. It leaves a beautiful sheen on the eyes and gives it an almost wet look but actually stays put! I love this for both day and night to add a little shimmer to the lids and find that it makes my eyes pop. I love tapping this on the lid with my fingers then smudging a brown liner into my lash line for an understated smokey effect. This baby is pricey but worth every penny. I’ve gotten much more use out of it than I thought I would. I also always keep it in my bag to take my look from day to night instantly.

9. NARS NARSissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette

This was a definite splurge. And I’m not going to lie, it sat in the box for a while because I couldn’t decide if I wanted to keep it. But my curiosity finally got the best of me and I had to break it out for use. I fell in love with the warm-hued tones and the colors are right in my comfort zone for everyday wear. The bronze/copper shadows really sold me on it and they really are gorgeous, highly pigmented shades. Again, a splurge, but such a good palette. It’s been getting a lot of use lately.

10. L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

YES. I finally found something to replace my coveted CoverGirl LashBlast. I’ve been using that mascara for years but nothing ever came close in comparison. Until this mascara came around. This is hands down my favorite mascara. Ever. It’s buildable, flake free, doesn’t transfer under my eyes and makes my lashes look sky-high. It’s also under $10 which is a plus for me. I can’t justify high-end mascaras because I go through them so quickly. But this? This is the one. I’ve found my perfect mascara!

11. e.l.f. Ultimate Blending Brush

Meet your new favorite brush. Talk about the ultimate multitasker, I use this brush for everything. Blending foundation, applying loose powder, blending concealer, bronzer/contour and even blending liquid/cream blushes! It really does it all. It’s unbelievably soft, minimal-to-no shedding and is only $6. I’ve already bought three because I use it so often. It’s replaced my flat top kabuki brushes and I’ve even been using this more than my Beauty Blender! It’s definitely a must-have beauty tool.

12. Kristin Ess Signature Shampoo and Condition

Last, but definitely not least is this shampoo and conditioner from Kristin Ess. I love finding incredible budget friendly hair care products and this collection is top notch when it comes to affordable hair care. The entire line is so good but I’ve especially been loving this shampoo and conditioner. It leaves my hair super clean from any product residue, doesn’t weight down my hair and smells amazing!
