LUSH Lip Scrubs are now available in the US!

April 23, 2010

After seeing countless reviews on the LUSH Lip Scrub I was dying to get my hands on one, especially since my lips are always ridiculously chapped. But I was sad to find out they were only available in Europe. Until now! Much to my surprise they are now available for purchasing in both LUSH stores and online. The Lip Scrub is available in three scents: Sweet Lips, Bubblegum and Mint Julip.

While I originally had my heart set on getting the Sweet Lips Lip Scrub, I was disappointed in how strong the chocolate aroma was and I knew it wasn’t for me (I’m not much of a chocolate fan). I also hate anything bubblegum scented, so that wasn’t the right choice for me either. So I ended up getting the Mint Julip Lip Scrub instead, and I’m so glad I did!

The Mint Julip Lip Scrub smells of sugar and peppermint, very similar to the smell of an Andes chocolate mint (although without the smell of chocolate). It is incredibly easy to use and it works great for getting all that dead skin off your lips only to leave them feeling nourished and smooth. And because it has peppermint in it, the scrub gives a slight tingly feeling to the lips; very refreshing for my overly dry and chapped lips. It also contains vanilla extract which helps lock in moisture and protect your lips.

To use the scrub simply rub your finger into the pot and then rub the scrub across your lips. The sugar crystals help slough off the dead skin leaving your lips smooth and soft. You can give it a light rub to soften up your lips, or rub vigorously if your lips are really chapped. I’ve been using it before I go to bed at night immediately following with Blistex, Vaseline or Carmex chapstick (whatever is closest to me) in order to help retain the mositure so that I wake up with silky, soft lips.

The LUSH Mint Julip Lip Scrub is a great buy and although it isn’t super cheap, it still isn’t ridiculously priced. At $9 for a small pot, it’s worth it because, as with all LUSH products, only all natural ingrediants are used. And it is a vegan product. So check it out on the LUSH Website or at a LUSH location near you.
