When it comes to foundation, I like to know that it’s going to stay put all day and give me that natural glow. I used to be an avid user of heavier, full coverage foundations but the older I get the more I realize, that when you let your real skin shine through, the more natural (and younger!) you look. Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation not only creates a naturally flawless complexion, but also provides long lasting coverage. That’s a win in my book. It was even an Allure’s Best of Beauty 2015 Award Winner!

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation (c/o) was developed specifically for the film and TV industry to even out skin tone and give that second-skin texture that looks just like the real deal on the screen. I typically have dry to normal skin and I find that the foundation looks natural enough to give that inner glow but still provides enough coverage for trouble areas such as dark spots and redness. I love that it lets my natural skin shine and that a little bit of my freckles still peak through.

I’ve been applying the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD foundation with a flat top kabuki for an “airbrushed” effect. For even more glow, I’ll add in two small drops of oil when applying the foundation or mixing with Strobe Cream for perfectly dewy skin.

The foundation comes in a range of 40 shades, and since I’m always in between colors (ie NC25-NC35) I’ve been mixing shades 120 Soft Sand and 140 Soft Beige to perfectly match my skin tone. Typically your body will be a shade to a shade and half darker than your face, so you always want to match the shade of foundation to your neck and décolletage.

To go along with the Ultra HD Foundation, Make Up For Ever released a collection of primers (c/o) for just about any skin type. From hydrating to color correcting, the Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primers comes in 10 formulas to target every texture and tone concern.

I’ve been alternating between the Hydrating and Nourishing Primer and applying it directly with my fingers, allowing it to set for a minute or two before applying foundation. I’m not normally a huge primer user, or believer for that matter. But I’ve found that the moisturizing primers work well for my skin tone to help even everything out and prevent my skin from getting too dry throughout the day.  This helps create a smoother skin tone and maintain longevity. With the primer, the foundation held up for well over 8 hours and still looked “fresh” by the end of the day. And while it may not be something I’d wear daily, I definitely make sure to start my routine with one of the primers to ensure my makeup stays put on days when I have events to attend after work or special occasions.

So if you’ve been on the hunt for a new foundation or looking to switch up your makeup routine, I recommend giving the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation and Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primers a try. You may have just found your new spring/summer foundation!
