I’ve teamed up with Target today to show you 3 easy makeup looks for 4th of July that make a bold stars-and-stripes statement! I usually keep my makeup a little more on the conventional side, but I also like to spice things up a bit by adding a pop of color on the eyes and/or lips.
Below are ten steps for the perfect makeup look and how to take that same look from bold to bolder to boldest by using a a multi-purpose cream blush, a colorful eyeshadow palette and a bright, coral lip. I’m sticking with a stars and stripes, all-American-theme but switching it up with coral instead of red on the lips.
For this look I started off with NYX Hydra Touch D’Hydration Primer, followed by my everyday foundation with a flat top kabuki brush. I then used NYX Conceal. Correct. Contour Palette to conceal my under-eye areas and highlight wherever needed, using a makeup sponge to blend with the pointed side. To contour, I use the rounded side of the makeup sponge with the NYX Conceal Palette again using the darkest shade in the hollows of my cheeks and along my temples and forehead. I then take Sonia Kashuk Crème Blush in Rose and use the same technique with the beauty sponge to apply the product to the apples of my cheeks. I top off my upper cheekbones with Sonia Kashuk Knockout Beauty Skin Glow in Golden Gloves using a tapered brush. To set everything and create a dewy look, I spray my entire face with Pixi by Petra Glow Mist.
Once the mist has dried, I use the orange eyeshadow in the Sonia Kashuk 6 Pan Eye Palette in Euphoria 4 with a fluffy crease brush and using sweeping motions, I apply the shadow to my crease. I then add several coats of mascara on my top and bottom lashes and finish off the face by filling in my brows with NYX Eyebrow Contour. I also use the other end to highlight underneath my eyebrows for dimension.
And now on to the finishing touches to take your look from bold to bolder to boldest…
For an easy, summery, bold look, I used the same product I used on my cheeks: Sonia Kashuk Crème Blush in Rose, swirling my finger in the product. I lightly pat this all over my lips until I get a good color and preferred opacity. This adds a slight boldness to the look with just a slight pop of color on the lips – just bold enough for any 4th of July plans.
To make your look even bolder, try adding a pop of color to your lower lash line. This is an easy way to incorporate a brighter color without going overboard. I used the darkest blue from the Sonia Kashuk 6 Pan Eye Palette with a pencil brush and smudge along my lower lash line. Because what stars-and-stripes-themed look is complete without any blue?
For the boldest look and to really make a statement add a bright coral lip using NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Life’s A Beach. I love the unexpected color for 4th of July, yet it still ties together perfectly with the blue liner. Red is too expected, so switch it up with a brighter color within the same color family to create a bold summer look.
So there you have it! Three easy, bold makeup looks for 4th of July.
