Jewelry is such a special thing to me because I grew up around women who never left the house without accessories. My grandmother on my father’s side exudes glamour. I don’t think, to this day, I’ve ever seen her without any jewelry on. Luxury should have been her middle name. My grandmother on my mother’s side has since passed, but always put on a necklace and earrings. I remember her always asking me with trembling hands to secure the clasp to whatever necklace she wanted to wear that day. She was determined to always look her best. My mother, possibly an even bigger jewelry lover than I am, always has on the perfect bracelet or necklace to compliment any outfit. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have grown up amongst very strong women. And you better believe these women never conquered life’s struggles without the right piece of jewelry on.
Because of this, it’s no surprise that I used to be a jewelry fiend and collected both new and vintage jewelry of every kind. Bold, statement pieces to dainty silhouettes – I love it all. I even worked at a luxury jewelry store for several years! But in the last year or so I’ve put a halt on my jewelry purchases and focused on finding beautiful, quality pieces that can take me from every day wear to a cocktail party.
While I used to wear silver exclusively, I’ve found myself gravitating towards rose gold hues. These Michael Kors jewelry pieces are strikingly beautiful. I love the rose gold metal tones and how easily they wear with anything. The pieces make a statement without being too bold, adding subtle luxury. And they look even more beautiful when they catch the light!
