{More} MAC Alice + Olivia and In the Groove

July 14, 2010
I told you guys I was going back for more. I just couldn’t resist. I may, and this is a questionable may, go back for yet even more from the In the Groove collection. But I would only go back for the other two Mineralize Skinfinishes: By Candlelight and Comfort. Before this collection came out I only had one MSF, Sunny by Nature, which was released last summer with the Colour Craft collection. But now I think I’m hooked on Mineralize Skinfinishes. They leave such a lovely glow on the cheeks and all over the face. And although I have plenty of other products that claim to do the same, they just don’t seem to perform as well as MSFs. So we’ll see how things pan out later this week, or should I say we’ll see if I can resist driving over to my local MAC. But enough blabber…
Here are the newest additions:
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Petticoat
Petticoat (swatched heavily for color visibility)
Petticoat Mineralize Skinfinish is gorgeous. It is a swirl of light pink, mauve and gold and combined it creates a beautiful pink pearl finish. It leaves an amazing sheen on the face and really makes your cheeks glow. This MSF is much more of a mauve-pink shade when compared to Stereo Rose, which is more of a coral-pink.
MAC Pigment in Later
Later Pigment swatched wet (on left) and dry (on right).
All I can say about this pigment is “WOW!” I am so glad I went back to get this. If you get anything from the Alice + Olivia Collection, make it this pigment. It looks rather boring and dull with a few twinkles here and there if you hold it up to the light, but when used wet, this color shimmers and shines. When dry it appears as a matte black pigment with slight purple glitter, but when wet it becomes an iridescent purple-black with a hint of blue. It almost looks like a shimmery purple pigment was placed on top of a solid black base. Normally when pigments are applied wet, it just intensifies the pigmentation and color, but this pigment actually transforms when used wet. Truly amazing. I am in love with this product.
