♥ Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes ♥
♥ MAC Fix + ♥
♥ Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream ♥
I swear by these Kirkland wipes, which come in a box of 120 for $11 at Costco. I have tried many different types of makeup remover towelettes and I was never fully satisfied with any of them until I found these. They are the softest and the strongest wipes I have found to date. I’ve tried going back to others, such as the Biore makeup removing wipes, but none of them come even close to comparison with the Kirkland version. Plus, you can’t beat the price of these. I have a review up from a while ago that you can view here.
I use them daily to remove my makeup and clean my face every night. After that, I use a few spritzes of MAC Fix + on my face and immediately apply moisturizer. My moisturizer of choice is Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream because of its thick and incredibly moisturizing formula. And it is only about $10 for this huge tub. I have incredibly tough skin and am not prone to breakouts or oily skin, but if you differ then please use this moisturizer with caution. Cetaphil also has a facial moisturizer that isn’t nearly as thick, so this might be a better option for those with sensitive skin. I also use this moisturizing cream on my entire body which works wonders during the dry winters. For a previous review on this moisturizer, click here.
I repeat with MAC Fix + and Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream prior to putting my makeup on as well. At night, I use Fix + to help lock in moisture after using the moisturizing cream. But in the morning before I put my makeup, I use the Fix + again because it contains “vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, and cucumber.” This is great in the morning to rejuvenate your skin from a long night’s sleep. It also does wonders if you haven’t gotten enough sleep and really helps liven up your skin. The moisturizer is used again in the morning to allow for makeup to go on smoother and to prevent any dry spots which can be obvious after you apply foundation.
♥ L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Cream Cleanser ♥
♥ St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub ♥
I only use these two products about twice a week because a) I’m lazy; and b) well, I’m really lazy lol. Since I just clean my face with a makeup wipe every night, I don’t find the need to actually clean my face with a cleanser as often. But, as I said earlier, I am not prone to breakouts. If most people did this they would break out like crazy and immediately regret the decision. I lucked out with good skin genes, I guess.
So, in order to properly cleanse my skin and remove any residue that is left even after using the makeup wipes, I cleanse my face with the L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Cream Cleanser. I love this product, especially this specific formula, because it gives my face a deep clean without completely drying out my skin. The cream formula really helps to retain moisture. I love the little “scrublet,” as they call it. It really scrubs my face better and gets deep into my pores much better than if I just used my hands to clean. I just wet the “scrublet” with luke warm water, add a dollop of cleanser, slightly dampen my face and start to massage the product all over getting into all the small places that tend to develop black heads, such as around my nostrils. After that I rinse my face to remove most of the soap and then take a small pea size amount of St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub and rub the product all over my face using my bare hands. After I have scrubbed the product everywhere I rinse, pat dry then immediately follow with my usual MAC Fix + and Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream.
Once in a Blue Moon Routine
♥ MAC Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask ♥
♥ MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator ♥
Ha! So as the subtitle states, this routine really does happen once in a blue moon, as you can tell by how much product I have left in the exfoliator container. This stuff is powerful. It REALLY deep cleans your skin sometimes leaving it too clean and too dry. It almost strips your skin of its natural oils. So I only use these products when I really need to deep clean my face or my face is oilier than usual. These two products are limited edition and were released back in October 2009 with MAC’s Style Black collection. You won’t be able to find it any any MAC locations, however I have heard some CCO’s (Cosmetics Company Outlets) still have them in stock.
To use these products, I simply dampen my face with luke warm water, take a small amount of the exfoliator and rub all over my face with my hands. Once I rinse that off, I apply the thermal mask and cover the whole surface area of my face and let sit for about 3 minutes. After the time is up, I then rinse off, pat dry and yadda, yadda, yadda; Fix + and moisturizer… and done. A brand new clean face.
And that’s it! Simple products you can get just about anywhere, minus the MAC stuff, which isn’t even necessary.
So what are your favorite skincare products? I would love to hear as I am starting to get a little bored with these products and this routine.
