Neutral Neon

January 13, 2015

Sweater: Target (on sale for $13!!) | Shirt: Nordstrom (similar here) | Jeans: Paige Denim (less expensive version here) | Booties: Louise et Cie | Clutch: Forever 21 (also love this one!) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Necklace: Accessory Concierge | Bracelets: Accessory ConciergeStella & Dot | Watch: Michael Kors | Lips: MAC Lipstick in Lovelorn, NYX Lip Butter in Tiramisu | Nails: OPI in My Private Jet
In case you haven’t noticed from most of my posts lately, a collared button-up shirt layered underneath crewneck sweaters is my staple. It seems to be the easiest way for me to layer to stay warm while still allowing some color and pattern play. Because let’s be honest, I’m not going to just wear a basic sweater and call it a day. Ha! So why not add a fun pop of color such as neon yellow underneath a neutral grey? Still the look of winter wear (this sweater is incredibly plush and warm) with an ode to spring/summer. And winter wear doesn’t have to mean all black or all muted colors. In yesterday’s post I mixed patterns to add interest, and in today’s post I’m using a pop of neon to add outfit interest. It really is the smallest details that make the biggest difference.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you! A subtle pop of neon can sometimes go a long way in an outfit 🙂

Hi there! So sorry it took a bit to get back to you… but I loved the Zigi Girl OTK boots! I actually ended up returning them though because they weren't exactly work appropriate and I ideally needed something for work. So I bought the Louise et Cie booties instead. Although I really regret returning them because it's so hard to find a good pointed toe tall leather boot with a HIGH heel. Sometimes 4 inches doesn't cut it for me 😉 But yes, the quality was great and I found them surprisingly comfortable to wear for being so high. They felt pretty soft for being synthetic leather and, honestly, you couldn't even tell they were synthetic. I would highly recommend them if you're still considering purchasing them. Wish I had just kept them!!

Hi Jaclyn, you outfit looks really great! Love the Blog!

BTW, aside from two postings you had done on the Zigi Girl black OTK boots, do you have any plans to show the boots again as I am curious how they have held up and worn in with the synthetic leather? How much of difference can you tell with the synthetic to actual leather on those boots? I have an opportunity to get a pair and wanted to check with you before I spend the money. Thank you!!

I love how you styled neon here. It's perfectly subtle, and really looks lovely under that sweater. Great outfit!
