New Beginnings…

April 28, 2014
For those of you who follow me via social media you’re probably already aware, but for those who didn’t know… we moved! That’s right – the Pretty Petals family has moved to Dallas! Steven received a job offer about a month ago so we packed up all our stuff and hit the open road.

{Leaving for our road trip // Rancho Cucamonga, California}
I don’t know how we managed it, but we actually fit all of our belongings into this 6′ x 12′ trailer! Steven pulled it behind his truck and I followed behind him driving my car with Charlie Boy as my co-pilot, although he pretty much slept the whole time. Some co-pilot!

 {Arizona State Line}
{Desert Death Star // Arizona}
We figured we should have some fun on our road trip and stretch it out so we weren’t driving non-stop hours and exhausting ourselves. Plus Charlie Boy needed quite a few pit stops, poor pup. So we were able to find a couple of cool sight seeing spots along the way.
{New Mexico State Line}
{Somewhere between New Mexico and Texas}
We were able to meet up with a friend of Steven’s in Albuquerque, New Mexico (Jay it was so nice to meet you!) and it was nice to interact with someone other than Steven and Charlie haha. But once we were deep into New Mexico it seemed like it was never ending. We just drove and drove and drove until we desperately needed some rest.
 {Charlie’s first snow // Amarillo, Texas}
When we woke up the next morning we were in Amarillo, Texas and it was snowing! Not what we prepared for but Charlie seemed to love it. We waited out the weather for a few hours and then luckily it warmed up and we were able to hit the road again.
{Cadillac Ranch // Amarillo, Texas}
One of the best sight seeing spots we saw was Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas. This was on Steven’s bucket list and it really was cool to see. So random! It was almost eerier to see the Cadillacs just sticking out of the ground in literally the middle of nowhere. Pretty awesome though.
{Our last stop // Dallas, Texas}
After 3 days and over 1,400 miles of driving, we had finally made it to Dallas, Texas. Thankfully, Steven’s sister lives in Dallas so her and her husband graciously let us stay with them until we found an apartment, which we finally did after a vigorous search! And I am LOVE with our new apartment and chose a brand new complex in Victory Park, Dallas near Uptown. Pictures to follow soon once everything is put together and decorated. Bare bones for now!
But so far we are absolutely loving it here. There are so many amazing places to see and some seriously awesome restaurants and bars. We’re on a mission to try them all! As much as we are going to miss our friends and family, Steven and I are both very excited for this new journey of ours.
So this Sothern California blogger is now a Dallas blogger!!
Don’t forget to follow along on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for all of our daily adventures in our new hometown.
