Product Love and Hate #1

February 9, 2010

Love:

  1. MAC 183 Brush– Amazing for blush/bronzer; an excellent buffing brush to sheer out color
  2. NYX Smokey Look Lipgloss- Perfect pink, nude lipgloss (plus it smells like candy!)
  3. MAC Blush Ombres (LE Spring Colour Forecast)- Both Ripe Peach and Azalea Blossom are beautiful colors; I like them better than normal MAC Powder Blushes
  4. MAC Blot Powder– Great for setting blush and bronzer without disturbing the color; also great for touch ups throughout the day
  5. ELF Studio Blush Brush- The perfect size for just the right amount of product for a highlight; also works wonders for contouring due to its smaller size and pointed shape
  6. ELF Studio Powder Brush- My new favorite liquid foundation brush for that “airbrushed” look; perfect for using with MAC Blushcremes or MAC Cremeblend Blushes

Hate:

  1. MAC Blingblack & Blackfire Glimmerglasses (LE Style Black)- Both appear to be grayish in color once on the lips (similar to a clear gloss); absolutely zero glitter is shown in the gloss once applied
  2. ELF Mineral Lipstick in Natural Nymph– Too nude for my liking (makes me look sickly)
  3. MAC Iris Accents Soft Sparkle Eye Pencil (LE Magic, Mirth, & Mischief)- Horrible! Appears silver in color instead of purple and has way too much glitter; lots of glitter fallout as well
  4. ELF Nail Polishes- Chips within a day; very thin and streaky requiring lots of coats (this has happened with several of the colors)
  5. Sephora Professional Platinum Stippling Brush #44- Doesn’t leave a flawless finish; leaves foundation streaky and uneven
  6. MAC Mineralize Eyeshadows in Blue Flame, Guilt By Association, Young Punk, & Cinderfella (LE Style Black)- They look beautiful in the package and swatched, but has ridiculous fallout and not enough color payoff when put on the eyes (even when applied wet)
  7. ELF Complexion Perfection Powder– Virtually useless; evens out skin tone when used on bare face but makes me look way too pale; does not work well or look good over foundation
