Public Chicago

August 6, 2015

A few weeks ago, I took off to Chicago with Natalie of The Fashion Hour to discover a new city and attend the Simply Stylist Conference. It was the most incredible experience being able to connect with so many incredible people. But the highlight of our trip was staying at Public Chicago Hotel in Gold Coast, only a few blocks away from the shore.

We were lucky enough to score a great deal on the Hotel Tonight app while at the airport, although we probably would have stayed at Public Chicago for the normal rate either way – it’s really that gorgeous of a hotel. The modern and minimalist, Parisian-meets-Sweden aesthetic won us over immediately.

The hotel is most known for the Pump Room, which boasts a stunning globe light installment and mid-century furniture creating a glamorous 60’s feel. The coffee-by-day, bar-by-night in The Library was also a stunner of a room filled with interesting pieces including gorgeous black framed circle stained glass windows that offered very film noir feel. This entire hotel just oozed Chicago-chic and if you ever visit Chicago in the future, I’d at least stop by to grab a coffee… or a drink.

Note of Interest: Be sure to head downstairs to see the gallery wall of celebrities that dined and partied at the Pump Room over the decades.
