I get asked a lot of the same questions so I thought I’d put together a little Q+A of all my frequently asked questions and so you can get to know me better!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you from?

I grew up in Southern California (born + raised!) but am currently living in Dallas, Texas.

Why did you move to Texas?

Living in California is TOUGH. It’s super expensive, nothing is convenient, tons of traffic. My heart and soul is in California but it got to a point where we needed to make a change so we could move forward with our lives. We were struggling out there and needed to find somewhere that was more affordable to live. Steven’s sister lived in Dallas at the time so we decided to just go for it. Steven applied for Dallas Fire Department and was hired about a year later! So off we went to start a new life in Texas. We’ve been in Dallas for four years now which is crazy!

What kind of dog is Charlie?

My sweet, sweet Charlie Boy is a Catahoula/Australian Shepherd mix. Or at least that’s what they told us at the shelter. We rescued him in California literally 3 months before we moved to Texas! He’s also an old man (we think he’s about 10 years old now) and sadly starting to go deaf but he really is just the sweetest.

Do you get lash extensions/use lash serums/wear falsies?

Nope, nope and nope. I consider myself lucky to have been born with crazy long eyelashes so I’ve never had to use anything to lengthen them. Just ask my Mom, she used to get stopped all the time when I was a baby because I was all lashes! I am, however, an avid mascara user and usually layer at least two different mascaras on the daily. I’m currently loving It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara and Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara. For natural makeup days, I’ve been using the new Glossier Lash Slick Mascara.

What nationality are you?

I’m Mexican (on my Mom’s side) and Greek/Turkish(?) on my Dad’s side. It’s a mystery on that side of the family TBH. Everyone in the family has a different opinion on the Mittman ancestry. πŸ™„

Do you blog full time?

Nope! I actually work a full-time job in conjunction with the blog. I was lucky enough to find my dream job in Dallas working in the influencer marketing industry. So my job and the blog go hand in hand. I currently specialize in strategic optimization/SEO implementation for influencer sites.

How tall are you?

I’m small, but mighty haha! 4′ 11″ to be exact. So yeah, tiny. People are always shocked at how short I am when they meet me in person for the first time. Surprise! It’s amazing how deceptive photos can be. 😜

How do you travel so much?

Ok, story time. Before Steven and I moved to Texas, we never EVER traveled. We simply couldn’t afford it. It was such a bummer watching friends go on trips in groups, as couples, etc and we could never afford to go. We also worked a LOT. Fast forward a few years, and now Steven and I try and travel as much as we can, even if it’s just a quick 24-hour trip. I love taking adventures of any kind. I don’t care where the destination is. But we do it on the cheap. No fancy hotels, no fancy dinners. I’m talking street food, cheap hotels and limiting how and when we spend money while traveling. We won’t always do everything on our list but will instead prioritize based on what we can afford. It’s all about making it work and that makes the trips even more fun.

I also travel quite a bit for work which allows me to take quick trips to see new cities or stay in places I normally would never if traveling on my own budget. So I’m very lucky to have a job that allows me that opportunity.
