{Review} Boots No7 High Lights Illuminating Lotion

December 10, 2010

After reading Rumi’s beauty post over at Fashion Toast in October I was intrigued by a product she featured, and was even more curious when I found out it was sold at Target. So I decided to put my Target gift card to good use and try out the Boots No7 High Lights Illuminating Lotion.

Boots No7 at Target has an amazing line of makeup and skincare, but up until now I had never tried any of their products, despite reading hundreds of amazing reviews. Rumi mentioned she used the High Lights Illuminating Lotion with her moisturizer or foundation and the second I saw the picture I knew I had to try it.

The contents in the bottle look strikingly similar to Benefit Cosmetics’ High Beam, only in a much larger bottle and still only a fraction of the cost. If you read my “Winter Glow” post then you know how much I love using illuminating products on my face during the winter, or throughout the year for that matter, but the products I typically use are a little high on the price range. So this is a great product to try out, especially since it is so much more affordable, and more than twice the amount of product. At $12.99 you get 1.0 fl oz of product, versus Benefit High Beam which costs $24 for 0.45 fl oz.

The High Lights Illuminating Lotion is a pearlized pink lotion, completely identical to Benefit High Beam. The lotion leaves a luminescent sheen on the face and can be used on bare skin or over makeup. You can use a small amount mixed in with your foundation or moisturizer to give it an extra glow. Or you can use it in small amounts to blend along your high cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose or in the inner corners of your eyes to make your face look radiant. I’ve been using it daily over my moisturizer, just before I apply foundation and it gives my face a nice dewy sheen without looking overly shiny. And the best part about this product is that it comes in a glass bottle and has a pump which makes it a lot easier to use just the right amount of product. I find one pump is enough for my entire face. This product is also hypo-allergenic so it is safe to use if you have sensitive skin or are prone to breakouts.

I think this is like the no7 skin illuminator in Pink (in the UK) I have that an high beam and they are virtually identical! well the effect is, high beam is lot thicker and the no7 is a lot more liquidy. Both lovely products!

what a beautiful product!!! and gorgeous packaging, my mom has a similar product to this, it's a No7 beauty balm and it is a white-ish sheeny cream which gives you a glow, she absolutely loves no7 products and illuminating products, too! haha 🙂 I'm going to try it one of these days and maybe post a review since you sparked my interest in this product! :)))
