Seche Vite aka Top Coat Extraordinaire

April 2, 2010

I always do my own manicures as it saves me a ton of money in the long run rather than going to a nail salon, and it’s more sanitary. Don’t even get me started on the topic of disgusting nail salon business practices. Anyways, I would always complain about the lasting of my nail polish as it seemed my nail polish was always chipping after a day or two because of my job. But I have found my nail savior!

Meet the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. A true rescue to chipped nails everywhere. This stuff is awesome and actually keeps the polish on my nails. It is a bit pricey at $9.95 a bottle (although some places sell it for less), but so worth it. My nail polish lasted more than a week with the Seche Vite Top Coat on. Pretty incredible. It is a very thick formula and has a rather potent smell of what reminded me of paint thinner, but it isn’t so overwhelming that it gave me a headache or anything.

The best part about this top coat is that it can be applied over nail polish that hasn’t completely dried and once the top coat is applied it dries in 1 minute! That means no more having to sit there completely still to prevent any smudges in my polish. I’m rather impatient so I never have a perfect manciure because I usually smudge at least one nail by accident. But with Seche Vite, I can finally have perfect nail salon manicures.

I highly recommend trying the Seche Vite Top Coat out and saving a trip to the nail salon. I purchased mine from Target, but it can also be found at Ulta, Sally’s Beauty Supply or any other fine nail polish suppliers.
