Play by the Rules AND Break the Rules with Holiday Beauty

Why should you play by the rules when it comes to holiday beauty? Sometimes it’s fun to go a little outside the box. I like to keep my makeup classic, so with the help of Target’s Concierge Beauty I was able to pull together a look that combined classic holiday with a bit of festive funkiness. I resorted to my inner hippie and went with headband, but this time with some serious bling. You have to wear something that sparkles on the holidays, so why not incorporate it into your hair style?

I used Nexxus Frizz Defy Hair Spray to keep the band in place and secured with two bobby pins in the back. Easy, right?

We all know I like to keep things classic, so this look is perfect for me. I would wear this look to any holiday party, and it works perfectly with any little black dress. I twisted the front portion of my hair on both sides and secured in the back with bobby pins, then created a low, messy bun to pull it all together. This creates the perfect laid-back, yet pulled together hair style.

When working with Concierge Beauty, we decided a berry lip is more than acceptable for the holidays. Often we think of the burgundy lip for fall, but you don’t always have to go with a classic red lip. We decided to break the rules a little and go for Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick in Plum Velour and Rich Girl Red for the perfect burgundy lip combo. Use a lip brush to help blend the colors seamlessly.

We went with a clean, dewy face by using Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect Makeup using a sponge and then added a bit of warmth and shine to the cheeks with Revlon Highlighting Palette in Bronze Glow.
