When it comes to hair essentials, I find myself always looking for the new and best products on the market. Websites like Sephora and Nordstrom are great because you can read customer reviews for honest opinions on what works and what doesn’t work. Sephora also has a Best Sellers section which is helpful to see what’s rated highest among purchasers. I tend to look for two things when searching for my hair essentials: high ratings and beautiful packaging. I really am a huge sucker for packaging. I use these products daily so why shouldn’t it be beautiful to look at, especially if I leave them out on the bathroom counter.
I have fallen head over heels for the Boticario de Havana line. I love the shampoo and conditioner and am addicted to their body lotion. The bottles look beautiful on the counter and in the shower and the smell of Archipelago Botanical products are incredible.
As soon as I get out of the shower, I apply a dime-size amount of argon oil on my hair so that it creates amazing shine when my hair dries. Once it’s fully dry (I try to wash my hair at night so it air dries) I spritz Love + Salt beach spray on my hair to allow for textured waves when I curl it. I always curl my hair with a curling wand so that it gives different sized curls depending on how high or low I wrap the hair on the wand. This helps to get a more natural wavy look than Shirley Temple curls. This T3 Whirl Trio Styling Wand Set works wonders and is hands down one of the most beautiful hair tools I’ve ever seen.
Once my entire head is curled (and cooled!), I lightly brush through the curls to create soft waves. This brush is amazing for maintaining shine and softness without harshly brushing your hair (this less expensive alternative also works wonders). To finish it off I spray all over and underneath the layers with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray to create texture and create messy waves. I find it helps maintain the waves and prevents the curls from interlocking and creating large spiral curls all over – not a good look after the age of 5.
