Oh, the big 2-9. This birthday was a weird one for me. It’s my last year in my twenties, and I’m not 100% sure how I feel about that. I’ve been in this “put life on hold” mode for a while now. But I feel like once you hit 30, you can’t just keep pressing the pause button. Life gets pretty real from this point forward. I find this terrifying. So to make turning 29 a little less scary, I booked a trip to Palm Springs. Sunshine, palm trees and a trip back home was all I needed to get my head in the right place. Stephanie Drenka, her husband Holden, Steven and myself all flew out to Palm Springs for a quick 3-day trip. It was perfect timing too because Dallas was storming all weekend.
For my birthday dinner, I wanted to keep it casual so I opted for this insanely comfy Who What Wear apron slip dress in the most beautiful rust color. Target is killing it right now with the Who What Wear collection, by the way. I paired the breezy dress with my favorite Isabel Marant sandals to keep the look casual.
We had dinner at Reservoir, a casual, chic restaurant at one of the newest Palm Springs hotel, Arrive. We might have to stay there our next trip there because it looked too cute not to try out for a night. If you follow me on Snapchat (@prettypetals87) you may have seen that we spotted Ali Fedotowsky! She was there on her babymoon and ate dinner at the same restaurant that night. Needless to say, we were pretty excited. But overall, I was happy we kept it a low key night. Sometimes it’s just nice to keep things casual.
