The Color Correcting Treatment That Completely Replaced My Foundation

We all know I’m a beauty junkie and I have more foundations than I’d like to admit, but ever since I started using the Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment I’ve completely skipped foundation altogether. Which is great! Because the more products I can eliminate, the better. I’ve learned to embrace my natural skin – freckles and all (mostly thanks to Glossier). But this color correcting treatment is a game changer for the “natural” face.

The Secret Ingredient: Tiger Grass

If you watch my Instagram Stories, you may have heard me ask, “What is this voodoo magic?!” Tiger Grass, also known as centella asiatica, is a powerful ingredient that calms and repairs the skin. Tiger grass actually gets its name from tigers who roll around in the Asia-native grass to help heal wounds and skin injuries. Dr. Jart+ extracted the soothing ingredient and added it to their products in the Cicapair collection creating products that are not only good for the skin but actually heals it!

The color correcting treatment is a light green, mud-like consistency that absorbs quickly into the skin and magically turns from green to beige in seconds. It contains a color-changing capsule within the formula to cover blemishes and make the skin look healthier and more nourished.

To apply, I grab a dime-sized amount on my finger (for each side of my face) and rub in until fully absorbed. After rubbing in the product, you’ll see the green color change to beige and immediately you’ll notice your skin looks less irritated, less red and reduces blemish inflammation. Not to mention the fact that it almost blurs imperfections acting like a light concealer or tinted moisturizer! Don’t believe me?

The Results

Here is one side of my face with the Cicapair treatment rubbed in and the other side of my face completely bare. I have no face makeup on (only brows and mascara). No concealer, no correcting serums and definitely no foundation. The side with Cicapair clearly reduced the redness underneath my eyes and on my cheeks. It literally looks like I applied concealer and a light foundation!

What Else Does It Do?

I kid you not when I say I have been using this product every single day in place of my normal moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation. This is one-killer multitasking product. And it’s good for your skin! Besides the SPF 30 protection from UV light, it also forms a barrier to protect your skin from the environment and enhance your skin’s viability. Truly a do-it-all treatment. I cannot recommend this product enough.

For those with light to medium skin tones, and especially if you suffer from redness, this is your new best friend. For those with medium to darker skin tones, this could look slightly ashy so I wouldn’t recommend using on its own. But for my light-medium skin, this product works great for every day wear without foundation.

Now I’m dying to try the rest of the Dr. Jart+ Cicapair collection. Have you tried any of the products yet? If not, this is a great cost-effective set to try everything out!
